Healing powers of ‘sape’

THE music from sape, a traditional musical instrument of the Orang Ulu in Baram, Miri, can apparently heal illnesses and provide its listeners with a sense of peace, Berita Harian reported.

Batu Emang, who was the winner of the 2014 Kuala Lumpur Baram Sape Master, said that in the past, the Orang Ulu viewed the sape as an unusual musical instrument linked to healing.
