Himpun 16: MCA Youth lodges police report over allegedly seditious banner

KUALA LUMPUR: The MCA Youth has lodged a police report over a banner seen at the 'red shirt' rally here, which they say is seditious.

MCA Youth vice chief Nicole Wong said she saw a banner questioning the existence of vernacular schools, held by some protesters clad in red shirts during the 'Himpunan Rakyat Bersatu' rally here.

"I was at Petaling Street around 12.30pm today and I happened to see the picture of this banner on Twitter.

"It was actually tweeted by a Chinese daily's Twitter account.

"What has today's rally got to do with vernacular schools?

"This is not related to it at all," said Wong when met at the IPD Dang Wangi Wednesday.

She hoped the police would look into the matter.

Wong was accompanied by Kevin Koo, the MCA Youth legal bureau deputy chairman.

"When you see something like this and don't lodge a report, something must be wrong.

"The police should investigate the person who is in the picture," said Koo.
