Chief Secretary reminds civil servants not to join ‘Himpunan Turun Anwar’

PETALING JAYA: Civil servants have been advised not to participate in the “Himpunan Turun Anwar” rally.

Sinar Harian reported that Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar reminded civil servants of the pledge they make weekly, especially on loyalty to the King and country.

“They are civil servants. How can they join?” he said briefly when asked on the sidelines after launching the Ansara Sports Carnival 2025 in Putrajaya on Sunday (July 20)

He said all civil servants must understand and embody the meaning of the pledge taken weekly.

His comments came after certain quarters announced plans to hold a “Himpunan Turun Anwar” rally in Kuala Lumpur on July 26.
