Patients can also write a living will on how they wish to be treated

KUALA LUMPUR: In addition to making an advance medical directive (AMD) a patient can also decide on writing a living will, appoint a power of attorney (POA) or a health-care proxy.

A living will can specify the types of medical treatment to be administered if the patient becomes incapacitated, suffers an incurable and irreversible illness or condition and directs that life-sustaining measures be suspended or discontinued.
