PETALING JAYA: An operation officer of a security firm was brought to a Magistrate's Court on Monday to face a charge of murdering his girlfriend at an apartment in Bandar Sunway here last month.
S. Sarwindren, 30, was accused of killing Pakizah Raja Khan, 27, who was a supervisor for a call service centre in a bank.
He allegedly committed the offence at a unit in Lagoon Perdana Apartment, Bandar Sunway here between 8.50pm on Feb 17 and 1.41am on Feb 18.
The offence under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries a mandatory death sentence, if convicted.
No plea was recorded.
Magistrate K. B. Eleena Hong Tze Lan then fixed Apr 15 for mention.
Sephirra Selamat was the deputy public prosecutor while counsel Geethan Ram Vincent acted for Sarwindren.
It was reported on Feb 19 that hours after a 27-year-old woman died from a fractured skull and other severe injuries, members of her family allegedly confronted her 30-year-old boyfriend and assaulted him.
The former operations manager of a security company has been warded in the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre’s (UMMC) trauma and emergency unit.
It was the same place where his girlfriend, Pakizah Raja Khan, was rushed to early yesterday with torn lips and injuries on her head and body. She died at about 1.40am.
It was learnt that the man was allegedly set upon by members of the woman’s family who accused him of beating her up.
Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli said the case had been classified as murder.
He declined to comment when asked if Pakizah’s boyfriend was beaten up by her family members.
