Faye Wong well worth getting wet for

KUALA LUMPUR: Twenty thousand fans gathered at Stadium Merdeka on Friday night to watch their favourite Chinese pop diva, Faye Wong, perform once again in Malaysia.

It has been a long five-year wait and nothing was going to stop them from catching their idol in action, not even the rain, but it was well worth getting wet for.

Renowned for her distinctive singing and musical style, the singer-actress proved why she remains the Chinese music industry’s best female singer.

Wong was in top form as she sang 26 songs at the two-hour performance.

Among the numbers she belted out were her early classics Wo Yuan Yi (I’m Willing), Xin Fang Ke (New Tenant) and Dang Shi De Yue Liang (The Moon at the Time) to more recent hits like Jiang Ai (To Love).
