Disabled student scales Mount Kinabalu using only his arms
Physical disabilities did not stop 24-year-old Azrulkhan Hasrullah, who is born without legs, from climbing Mount Kinabalu with the mere strength of his arms.
The International Islamic University student, who is fondly known as Adam, had successfully "crawled up" from the Timpohan Gate to reach Sayat-sayat checkpoint located 3,700m high.
It took him 14 hours to reach Laban Rata and another six hours to the Sayat-Sayat hut the next morning.
Although he couldn't reach the summit, Adam was still happy and considered the experience an achievement because Mount Kinabalu was the most challenging hike he has participated thus far.
Adam, who suffers from polio since birth, said time constraint and low body temperature were the two factors that stopped him from reaching the summit.
But he's not giving up and is determined to give it a second try, saying he would start his journey earlier and move faster in a bid to reach the peak.
