Cops uncover warehouse turned drug lab in Subang

KUALA LUMPUR: Police uncovered a warehouse that had been turned into an illegal drug-processing laboratory during a raid at the Taman Perindustrian Subang industrial area on March 2.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said checks at the premises led to the seizure of a large quantity of chemicals and equipment believed to have been used to process drugs.

“Inspections uncovered 214 drums containing liquid suspected to be chemical substances, three drums containing suspected chemical powder as well as five bottles containing suspected chemical powder,” he said at a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Centre here on Monday (March 9).

Police also seized 0.94kg of suspected chemical powder along with five machines and three glass containers believed to have been used in the drug manufacturing process.

Comm Hussein said investigations found that the syndicate was believed to have been active since October 2024 and had used a false identity to rent the warehouse at a monthly rate of RM6,500.

“The syndicate used the warehouse in the industrial area as an illegal laboratory to process drugs before distributing the substances to the Klang Valley market,” he said.

He added that no arrests have been made and efforts are ongoing to track down those involved.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
