LESS than a month into his second term, US President Donald Trump launched a new round of trade wars, using tariffs as a weapon to advance the United States’ interests.

On Feb 1, Trump signed an executive order, imposing 10% tariffs on Chinese goods and 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods – set to come into effect on March 4 .
