HARVEY Norman Malaysia marks La-Z-Boy’s 99th anniversary by launching the Cody rocking recliner at 1 Utama shopping centre in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

“We believe everyone deserves that moment of comfort to recharge, whether it’s after a long day at work or simply enjoying some quiet time at home,” said Harvey Norman Malaysia chief operating officer Jonathan Toh.

La-Z-Boy began with a wooden recliner in Monroe, Michigan of USA, in 1927.

The Cody bears a commemorative plate.

La-Z-Boy Asia general manager Dr Bond Ratharuj Manaswatcharapong said the Cody was designed with Asian homes in mind.

The compact rocker has 16 reclining positions and three footrest settings.

Harvey Norman furniture division general manager Mark Mah said the La-Z-Boy recliner was displayed at its 37 outlets nationwide.

It comes in fabric and leather versions, offered at promotional prices currently.

Over this weekend in conjunction with the launch, those who purchase a La-Z-Boy recliner at Harvey Norman 1 Utama can take a shot at the Gold Bar Challenge.

In the challenge, the participant has to remove a gold bar from a specially designed case within 9.9 seconds for a chance to win a full refund on their recliner purchase.

With a purchase of any La-Z-Boy at any Harvey Norman store anytime until Dec 31, the customer will also stand a chance to win a 5g gold bar.

Three customers will be picked in the lucky draw this month and another three winners will be selected next month.

OCBC cardholders get double entries in the lucky draw and an extra 5% off for La-Z-Boy recliners.
