TO mark its 18th anniversary, a community-based club held fun activities at several locations in Kluang, Johor.

Johor Baru Happy and Joyous Club event organising chair Anita Robiso Leong said the club was established in 2008 and members have been promoting a happy, healthy and caring lifestyle through activities including community service.

“For our anniversary celebration, about 40 of our members engaged with elderly residents at Miriam Home through laughter yoga, drumming, singing and balloon-making activities.

“It was heartening to see the residents, including a 100-year-old, laughing and having fun.

“We also collectively contributed RM1,600 to the home,” she said in a statement.

Earlier, the club visited Dataran Tasik Kluang, where they shared with the public laughter yoga techniques, alongside clowning and dancing activities.

Leong said participants were also given toy bear keychains as keepsake before the group moved to other spots such as Kluang street art lane, Rumah Seni and Kluang Coffee Factory.

“The anniversary trip, participated by members as old as 87, is a reminder that the effort to spread joy knows no bounds.

“We hope to continue connecting with more people and bringing more joy to the community,” she said.
