THE fifth edition of a charity run supporting National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) attracted over 7,500 participants and raised RM200,000.
Toyota Start Your Impossible (SYI) Outrun 2026 by UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) featured a 5km fun run, 10km competitive run and half marathon, kicking off at Dataran Wawasan in Putrajaya.
The annual charity run strengthened its place as a community favourite that brought Malaysians together through fitness, personal challenge and support for a longstanding cause, UMWT said in a media statement.
The 2026 edition saw strong take-up in the competitive events, with 2,200 participants in the 10km run and 1,800 taking on the 21km of the half marathon.
“What makes this fifth edition significant is the consistency of support behind it,” said UMWT president Datuk K Ravindran.
“Toyota SYI Outrun has become a mid-year run that Malaysians return to because it is accessible, positive and connected to a cause that continues to matter.
“For UMWT, this reflects the value of building community initiatives over time, where every edition strengthens participation, awareness and practical support for organisations such as NCSM,” he said, adding his thanks to all those who had made it happen.
Toyota SYI Outrun has supported causes linked to wellness and inclusivity since it was introduced in 2019, beginning with the Paralympic Council of Malaysia and continuing in recent editions with NCSM.

Set against Putrajaya’s recognisable landmarks, the event featured a scenic route and village atmosphere, while the competitive races added to the overall energy with total prizes worth RM138,000 for the top 10 finishers.
The event also marked Muhammad Ammar Aiman Nor Azmi’s first appearance at an event organised by UMWT.
This followed the Johor-born para-sprinter and Asian Para Games gold medallist’s debut in the Global Team Toyota Athlete (GTTA) programme.
The GTTA programme is Toyota’s global platform for athletes who embody the spirit of challenging limits and inspiring positive change beyond competition.
UMWT said Muhammad Ammar’s presence brought the Start Your Impossible message to life, reflecting Toyota’s belief in “Mobility for All” and the importance of creating more inclusive opportunities in sport and society.
Toyota SYI Outrun, UMWT said, reflected the company’s commitment to building community platforms that encouraged Malaysians to participate, stay active and support causes that matter.
