Inclusive Putrajaya run to mark automaker’s switch to mobility solutions

Toyota SYI Outrun 2025 will be held at Dataran Wawasan this year.

AN inclusive charity run will take place on July 27 at Dataran Wawasan, Putrajaya.

Organised by UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT), the Toyota Start Your Impossible (SYI) Outrun 2025 is part of the Japanese automaker’s global SYI initiative.

The run marks the company’s transition to mobility solutions.

In Malaysia, UMWT has adopted the campaign to reinforce its social responsibility and leadership in mobility solutions.

“At Toyota, we believe movement isn’t just about machines –it’s about society progressing.

“The Outrun reflects our belief that movement can lead to connection, healing and change,” said UMWT president Datuk K. Ravindran.

He said for the first time, UMWT was introducing the half marathon – an exciting new challenge symbolising progress and celebrating endurance, determination and community spirit.

“The Outrun brings people together, uniting personal goals with greater purpose.”

Since its introduction in 2019, the run had raised over half a million ringgit for accessibility and wellness causes, with beneficiaries including Paralympic Council Malaysia and National Cancer Society Malaysia.

The 2025 edition continues the legacy by throwing support to Malaysians affected by cancer.

There is a family-friendly 5km fun run which is open to participants aged five and above.

There is also the 10km run.

Each competitive category offers the Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Veterans and Malaysia-specific classes which promotes diversity and inclusivity.

A record-breaking RM138,000 prize pool awaits the top 10 finishers in both competitive runs.

Besides medals and race bibs, participants will receive a performance running kit.

Finishers of the half marathon will earn a special-edition finisher’s jersey.

Registration closes on July 8.

The participation fees are RM55 (5km), RM75 (10km) and RM95 (21km).
