33 foreigners detained, 14 compounds issued in joint operation in Puchong

SUBANG JAYA: Thirty-three people were detained and 14 compound notices issued during a joint enforcement operation targeting undocumented foreigners in Puchong yesterday (July 7).

The integrated crackdown, named Operasi Bersepadu Warga Asing, was carried out by the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) and the Selangor Immigration Department in Kampung Sri Langkas Tambahan and Jalan Jurutera, where officials inspected several business premises.

In a statement, MBSJ said the 14 compounds were issued for various offences under the council’s existing by-laws.

During the same operation, immigration officers detained 33 Myanmar nationals, consisting of 20 men and 13 women, who were taken into custody for further action under immigration laws.

Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin and MBSJ Zone 14 councillor Kamarul Hafiz Kamarudin were present during the exercise.

The operation was led by MBSJ Enforcement Department director Muhammad Zaki Yusoff and involved 65 officers and personnel from both agencies.

MBSJ stated that it will continue to work closely with enforcement agencies to ensure regulatory compliance, curb illegal activities, and maintain an orderly urban environment.
