A retreat for women concluded with a powerful message of inclusion, healing and collective empowerment, bringing together women from diverse backgrounds for a transformative experience centred on personal growth, resilience and meaningful connection.
The Enliven Women Retreat was created as a safe and intentional space for women to reconnect with themselves, build authentic community and learn from inspiring female leaders across industries, it said in a statement.
The retreat featured heartfelt conversations, mindfulness sessions, leadership insights, and transformative breakthrough experiences designed to uplift women emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
In a significant initiative toward inclusivity and social impact, the retreat also welcomed and fully sponsored 22 women from B40 group, through the generosity of its corporate partners and sponsors including Mitraland, Sunway Pyramid, Focus Point, Caring Hearts Charity Foundation, Fitline Malaysia and King’s Park Development.
The sponsored participants included single mothers, caregivers, women navigating financial hardship and those seeking renewed hope and opportunities for personal growth.
“Our vision for Enliven was never to create a space only accessible to a privileged few,” said Caleen Chua, founder of Yoga for Mums and Enliven Women.
“True empowerment happens when women from different walks of life come together, share stories and remind one another that every woman deserves to feel seen, valued and supported.”
Highlights from the two-day programme in Subang Jaya included a transformation workshop led by Chua, focused on inner healing, self-awareness and personal breakthrough.
It also included a powerhouse leadership panel featuring BloomThis co-founder Penny Choo alongside Zurich Malaysia chief financial officer Chin Yuen Leng, sharing candid insights on leadership, motherhood, resilience and redefining success.
The event also featured an intimate fireside chat with Malaysian squash legend and world champion Datuk Nicol David, who spoke about mental resilience, purpose beyond achievements, and navigating identity beyond the world stage.
Chua had launched her “Mind and Body Transformation” programme during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Her online programme has impacted over 500 women in four countries, namely Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Australia.
Chua was inspired to start the programme after hearing a lot of negative stories about women’s postpartum experiences and how many mothers struggled to regain their sense of self-love and self-confidence.
Through her nine-week programme, they learn mindfulness techniques to resolve their negative emotions, build a positive outlook of life as well as become a healthier and fitter version of themselves.
Chua said she paid special attention to mothers as they give so much for others but mostly experience neglect themselves.
Participants described the retreat as deeply moving and transformational, with many sharing that the experience gave them renewed confidence, clarity and a sense of belonging.
As conversations around women’s
well-being and mental health continue to grow globally, the retreat organiser hopes to pave the way for more inclusive spaces where women are empowered not just to succeed externally, but to thrive holistically, the statement added.
“Enliven Women Retreat also plans to continue expanding its community impact initiatives, with the goal of making transformational experiences more accessible to women across different socioeconomic backgrounds.
