RM55k raised for urgent heart surgery

Vimalaashravanee suffers from a rare genetic condition called Williams Syndrome.

EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Vimalaashravanee Shasidran, who suffers from Williams Syndrome, is now able to undergo urgent heart surgery thanks to the generosity of the public.

The full sum of RM55,000 was raised after Community Care Enrichment Programme (CCEP) Foundation group chief executive officer Yee Poo Yoon highlighted her plight in StarMetro.

“We are deeply grateful for the incredible generosity, kindness and compassion shown by every donor,” said her mother M. Shaliny.

“Your support has brought hope, relief and a chance for a better tomorrow.

“No contribution was too small. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Vimalaashravanee and our family.

“We could not have done this without all of you. Let us continue spreading kindness and supporting one another.”

Williams Syndrome is a rare genetic condition, with Vimalaashravanee’s health worsening with age.

Without surgical intervention her condition would have become life threatening.

“Thanks to the collective efforts of the community, the required funds have now been successfully raised, giving the child a precious opportunity to receive the treatment she urgently needs,” said Yee.

She extended the foundation’s appreciation to all donors and supporters, adding that the outpouring of public kindness had not only eased the family’s financial burden but also given the child hope for a healthier future.
