The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), continuing its mission to broaden and diversify its audience, is set to take a bold creative leap with a special collaboration featuring multi‑instrumentalist Belle Sisoski on April 11 at 8pm in Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC.

This pioneering concert will blend orchestral richness with traditional instruments and the pulse of electronic dance music (EDM), creating a genre‑bending experience rarely seen on the DFP stage.

Under the baton of Gerard Salonga, the MPO and Belle will perform works by Hans Zimmer from Inception and Pirates of the Caribbean as well as Belle’s own compositions.

These include Secrets, Hold On, Focus and selections from her album Ethnosphere.

These pieces will be reimagined with orchestral arrangements by Ilham Subri, Azhad Sulaiman, Jenny Chin, Luqman Aziz, Teuku Umar Ilany, Mac Chew and Salonga himself.

Audiences can expect a mesmerising fusion of the MPO’s symphonic sound with ethnic instruments such as the rebab, sape, gambus, sompoton, tapi, engkerumong, kompang, gendang and Shigu Chinese drums, all woven into this one‑night‑only performance.

Sarawak‑born Belle, a passionate advocate for culture and heritage, is known for her one‑woman showcases that blend ethnic ambience, cinematic soundscapes and electronic elements.

Her performances highlight the versatility of traditional instruments within modern, genre‑crossing music, creating both an auditory and visual spectacle.

Composer of the iconic Malaysia Day anthem We Are Malaysia, Belle was the first Malaysian finalist in the Commonwealth Song Contest (2022), was named one of Rolling Stone UK’s Best Independent Artists 2025, and composed the score for the indie film Scars (2023).

Expect an unforgettable evening of high energy, emotion and electronic grandeur as the MPO and Belle share the DFP stage.
