The spirit of togetherness and sharing is elevated during Ramadan and the subsequent Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

Bonds within families, communities and society are strengthened through the observance of fasting, followed by the joyous period celebrating unity, forgiveness and gratitude.

Throughout the month of Ramadan, the spirit of giving can be felt, from donations of food, clothes and alms for the less fortunate to the distribution of duit raya.

The breaking of fast often becomes an opportunity for get-togethers, with families and friends enjoying iftar at home, dining out or enjoying picnics outdoors.

The nightly terawih prayers are a time for reflection and sharing within the community.

When Hari Raya arrives, it is a celebration of faith, culture and heritage.

Returning to the kampung, visiting friends and family, sharing meals, especially seasonal favourites like lemang, nasi impit and ketupat with rendang, are among the activities most associated with the Aidilfitri festivities.

Nights illuminated by flickering kerosene lamps, decorative lights, sparklers and fireworks complete the festive mood as everyone celebrates Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
