Persatuan Kebajikan Sayap Kasih Malaysia pleads for help as the caregivers need a new home to look after the children

Persatuan Kebajikan Sayap Kasih Malaysia urgently appeals to the public for help as they have been informed that they need to move from their current home in Jalan Gasing in Petaling Jaya.

The NGO, based in Jalan Gasing in Petaling Jaya since 2012, is now requesting public help as it is trying to find a new home for the children. They have been told to move before Sept 1 as the landlord has sold their current premises.

"This is not just a house; it is the place where 69 special children have lived for a long time, a place where, through care, companionship, and stability, they have slowly built what they call home. But we have received the news that we need to move by the end of August," said Susan Ng, a caregiver from the organisation.

"We are trying to find a new home in Petaling Jaya because many of our supporters who always visit and help the children are from the area. We are confident we can find a suitable house for the children around this area.

"We have set up an emergency relocation fund for the children, and we hope to get good support from the public. The public has always helped so much in the past, and we are asking for help again this time. We are, indeed, asking for a very big help, which the association would like to thank the public in advance."

The NGO is also a non-profit charitable centre that cares for 69 special children on a long-term basis and has helped many children in the past, especially overcoming their young ones' health issues.

"We are not just moving beds, tables, chairs, wheelchairs, and daily essentials - we are also working hard to preserve the children's familiar routines, their daily care, their companionship with one another, and that most fundamental sense of safety and security in life. Hence, the reason we need to move to a suitable.

The centre said that it needs RM300,000 for relocation and rebuilding costs. These funds will be used for: manpower and transportation costs during the move, repairs to the new premises, installation of basic facilities, rent, and maintaining the basic living needs of 69 special children.

"Your help is immeasurably meaningful. On behalf of all these vulnerable children, we extend our most heartfelt gratitude and respect to every kind-hearted individual who has offered their support," said the centre.
