THE Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association (MCTA) Johor Chapter expects to generate about RM18.5mil in sales from its three‑day travel fair in Johor Baru this year.
Its Johor chairman Edwin Tay Kian Chuan said the MITM Travel Fair 2026 at Sutera Mall from March 13-15, would feature over 100 booths offering a wide range of domestic and international travel packages.
“This year, we have 16 travel agencies participating, along with tourism bureaus from Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand,” he said.
Last year’s fair drew tens of thousands of visitors and recorded RM18mil in sales.
Tay said the association was confident of surpassing that figure this year.
“The fair will be held at the same venue as last year, and we expect sales to exceed RM18.5mil,” he said.
Lucky draws and vouchers are set to attract shoppers. Visitors who spend more than RM500 at the fair will be eligible for a lucky draw, with the grand prize, once again, being a brand new car.
The association is also running a social media engagement campaign ahead of the event.
Members of the public who like, comment and share MCTA Johor’s official Facebook post between Feb 23 and March 12 can redeem a RM50 cash voucher by presenting a screenshot at the fair.
