Visitors viewing heritage-inspired keepsakes that reflect Malaysia’s past.
A series of experiential packages and heritage-inspired products have been launched at Sunway Lagoon Theme Park in Bandar Sunway, Selangor, in support of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim congratulated Sunway Group on the initiative and called on industry players to work collectively to strengthen the country’s tourism ecosystem.
“It requires the participation of everyone to continuously enhance tourism offerings and promote Malaysia on the global stage.”
He said industry-led initiatives were expected to complement government efforts to increase visitor arrivals, lengthen stays and boost tourism spending.
Two key initiatives were introduced as part of the launch.
The Sunway Tiny Toys special collection features everyday Malaysian icons reimagined as heritage-inspired souvenirs designed to appeal to both visitors and local collectors.
The Malaysia Attraction Passport programme aims to encourage domestic travel through interactive experiences across four major family friendly attractions within Sunway’s portfolio.
Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah said the effort reflected the company’s belief in tourism as a driver of economic growth and social cohesion.
He added that the Group remained committed to supporting Malaysia’s economy through tourism promotion and related activities.
The launch saw performances from singers Ernie Zakri and Nor Zila Aminuddin, better known as Ella, who sang with her husband Azhar Ghazali.
Guests were also treated to a fireworks display to commemorate the event.
Also present were Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil and Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Steven Sim.
