MBDK closes car wash operated by foreigners in Port Klang

The car wash was operating without a licence next to a convenience store in Port Klang.

Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) has shut down an unlicensed car wash run by foreign nationals on Jalan Pandamaran Jaya in Port Klang, Selangor.

MBDK Corporate Communications Department director Norfiza Mahfiz said an inspection was carried out MBDK’s Enforcement and Licensing Departments following public complaints.

“The car wash was operating without a licence,” she said.

During the operation, enforcement officers seized a vacuum cleaner, compressor, water pump and a drum of shampoo.

Norfiza said the car wash was also ordered to cease operations over safety concerns as it operated next to a convenience store.

She said MBDK would continue cracking down on illegal car wash operators.

“In 2025, MBDK had shut down 25 car wash businesses run by foreigners.

“Nine other unlicensed makeshift car wash outlets operated by Malaysians were also closed down,” she said.

Most of the illegal car wash businesses were found in Meru, Kapar, Bandar Sultan Suleiman, Pandamaran, Taman Sri Andalas and Bandar Bukit Tinggi.

Complaints about illegal car wash businesses can be made to MBDK at 03-3375 5555.
