Concert, countdown for National Day at Dataran Merdeka

A THREE-DAY National Day countdown that includes a concert by Malaysian artistes will take place at Dataran Merdeka.

The “Festival Ambang Merdeka 2026: Malaysia Madani – Kesejahteraan Dinikmati” by CIMB Bank Bhd and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will be from Aug 29 to 31.

Over 100,000 people are expected at the free-admission event.

Highlight of the event will be “Konsert Kita Bagi Jadi @ Ambang Merdeka 2026” on Aug 30, with a 90-minute musical leading up to National Day when the clock strikes 12.

Choreographed by creative director Pat Ibrahim, it will feature Aina Abdul, Aman RA, Nadia Aqilah, Asmidar, Haziq Rosebi, Mimifly, Izen Kong and Pasya accompanied by 70 dancers and a 60-member Orkestra Kuala Lumpur.

Audiences will be treated to a powerful performance besides the debut of three songs.

The countdown will include a fireworks display over Dataran Merdeka.

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and local entrepreneurs will participate too by selling food and beverages as well as other local products.
