Terengganu’s traditional handicraft, arts and games were the focus of Newor@Kampung Budaya Terengganu (KBT) Festival in the state capital.

The event at KBT (Terengganu Cultural Village), one of the state’s attractions within the Muzium Negri Terengganu complex in Kuala Terengganu, saw visitors wandering around and enjoying showcases of local products like batik, foods, traditional games such as gasing (spinning tops), and martial arts like silat.

Terengganu Tourism Department director Hilman Hajijan said the festival was held to bring the community closer to local arts and culture products, some of which were gradually being forgotten.

The event, which is in its third year, was organised by Terrapuri Heritage Village, with support and cooperation of Terengganu Tourism Department and Tourism Malaysia, as reported by Bernama.

Also present were Terengganu National Culture and Arts director Zubariah Abdullah and Terrapuri Heritage Village managing director Alex Lee Yun Ping.
