Kuala Lumpur Tower had an ethereal glow when lanterns were paraded at the Sky Terrace, 394m above sea level.
Over 150 people took part in Malaysia’s Highest Mid-Autumn Lantern Parade, which commemorates the Mooncake Festival, one of the celebrations of the Chinese community.
The event also garnered a Malaysia Book of Records entry, as reported by Bernama.
“The main aim is to highlight talents who can decorate lanterns as well as create public awareness of festivals that people may overlook,” said Khairil Faizal Othman, chief executive officer of LSH Service Master Sdn Bhd, which manages KL Tower.
The event was also in line with KL Tower’s efforts to prepare for Visit Malaysia 2026 through various culture and tourism activities, he said.
The Malaysia Book of Records certificate was presented by its representative, Menaga Vadamalai, to LSH Capital Bhd chairman Tan Sri Lim Keng Cheng.
