ECO World Foundation presented two new dialysis machines worth RM86,000 to Ampang Kau Ong Yah Foundation Haemodialysis Centre for the benefit of underprivileged kidney patients.

In a press release, Eco World said eight of the centre’s 22 machines were more than six years old and increasingly difficult to maintain.

The haemodialysis centre, founded in 2003, is recognised as one of the pioneer and larger non-profit ones in Selangor, and has provided subsidised dialysis treatment to needy Malaysians with kidney failure.

It currently serves 73 patients and operates two shifts daily, six days a week.

At the handover, Eco World Foundation chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said, “Eco World Foundation hopes to ease the burden on the centre and improve the quality of care for patients who depend on dialysis for their survival.

“This initiative reflects our belief that corporate responsibility extends beyond education and community support, to encompass healthcare and overall well-being.”

In Rawang, the foundation also donated a RM52,000 dialysis machine to St John Ambulance Malaysia-Kawasan Pantai Selangor Foundation’s dialysis centre.

Meanwhile, Eco World Foundation celebrated another milestone in empowering education by presenting Kapsul Ilmu, a mini library and multifunctional activity centre built for SJK(T) Bestari Jaya through the support of Eco Ardence.

Kapsul Ilmu, which means vessel of knowledge, offers pupils a comprehensive, modern and conducive learning space designed to cultivate a love for reading and digital learning.

Costing RM42,000, this is the fourth knowledge capsule delivered by EcoWorld Group this year, bringing the total investment to RM204,000.

Lee said Kapsul Ilmu represented the company’s commitment to nurturing young minds and strengthening schools supported under the foundation’s Student Aid Programme.

“Beyond providing financial assistance, we want to create learning environments that inspire creativity, collaboration and curiosity,” he said.

The air-conditioned, open-concept Kapsul Ilmu provides a comfortable and interactive environment for pupils to read, learn and explore, and offers teachers a venue for professional discussions and idea sharing.

It is also equipped with internet access.

Located in the school’s courtyard, Kapsul Ilmu is designed to be a lively hub for outdoor classroom sessions, co-curricular activities and reading events.

Lee expressed appreciation to Eco World Divisional general manager Datuk Ho Kwee Hong and the teams from Eco Sanctuary, Eco Ardence and Eco Grandeur for teamwork in completing the project promptly.

“I hope the pupils will make the best use of Kapsul Ilmu and cherish the facilities provided so that future generations of students can also benefit from this gift,” Lee added.
