THE spirit of Ramadan radiated as PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd (PMVSB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), hosted its second annual bubur lambuk event.

This year’s gathering marked the first time it was held at the historic Stadium Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur, bringing together volunteers and local residents for a day of camaraderie and meaningful engagement.

The event saw PNB and PMVSB volunteers preparing and distributing bubur lambuk to the community.

Volunteers started cooking the porridge in the morning, with distribution commencing at 2pm.

The initiative successfully reached hundreds of local residents, with 500 packs of bubur lambuk distributed.

Perumahan Awam Seri Sarawak Residents Association chairman Mohd Azmi Zakaria said, “It’s heartening to see a major corporation like PMVSB remain committed to engaging with its neighbouring communities.

“Its support has been instrumental in uplifting the surrounding areas, particularly the residents of Seri Sarawak.”

Mohd Azmi said this was the second year of the bubur lambuk programme with the residents.

“Beyond that, PMVSB has played a vital role in initiatives such as the stingless bee project, Dapur Komuniti, and the refurbishment of our park.

“We deeply appreciate this collaboration and hope it continues for years to come,” he added.

During the bubur lambuk distribution, PMVSB chief executive officer Tengku Datuk Ab Aziz Tengku Mahmud said, “The initiative is a meaningful way to strengthen connections within the Merdeka 118 precinct.

“Hosting this at Stadium Merdeka allowed us to further extend our reach and deepen our engagement.

“We will continue to spearhead initiatives that prioritise and uplift the people who make up this vibrant community.”

Last year’s inaugural event saw nearly 450 packs of bubur lambuk distributed to public housing residents of Seri Sarawak, Jalan Hang Tuah, Loke Yew and Seri Selangor.
