BUBUR lambuk is traditionally shared during Ramadan to symbolise togetherness.

OCBC Al-Amin Bank Bhd marked Ramadan with its annual distribution of the spiced porridge around Masjid Jamek, Kuala Lumpur, underscoring its commitment to serving the community.

OCBC Al-Amin chief executive officer Syed Abdull Aziz Syed Kechik said, “Our annual bubur lambuk distribution on the first working day of Ramadan has become a familiar part of the season for many in the area, bringing us together to share blessings and uphold its true spirit.”

The bank also distributed bubur lambuk at Yayasan Anak-Anak Yatim Wardatul Jannah in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya in Selangor.

Additionally, it allocated zakat funds for a new classroom at Politeknik Nilai in Negri Sembilan and a library lounge at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia in Melaka.

It also supports food banks at both institutions for underprivileged students.

“These initiatives reflect the bank’s commitment to channelling zakat to projects with long-term, transformative value.

“We are truly grateful to Masjid Jamek and Pusat Pungutan Zakat-MAIWP for partnering with us once again.

“We will also be hosting a buka puasa and food basket assistance programme for the underprivileged with Masjid Jamek later this month,” said Syed Abdull Aziz.
