Developer Matrix Concepts kicked off Chinese New Year festivities with celebratory dinners for staff and business associates in honour of their dedication and support to the company’s success.

Held over two nights, the back-to-back events at d’Tempat Country Club in Bandar Sri Sendayan, near Seremban in Negri Sembilan, celebrated the company’s achievements over almost three decades and includes the latest feather in its cap – the recent groundbreaking of MVV City, a planned smart city in collaboration with the state government.

With current market capitalisation of RM3bil, the developer has grown since the launch of its maiden project in Bahau in 1996, a testament to the strong partnerships and teamwork forged and fostered over the years.

During his address to employees, Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd founder and group executive deputy chairman Datuk Seri Lee Tian Hock expressed his gratitude to the heart and soul of the organisation – the people who put in the hard work, dedication and passion that drives the company forward.

“Twenty-nine years ago, we embarked on a journey to redefine the landscape of property development. And what a journey it has been.

“I’m filled with pride with the achievements we have accomplished together,” he said.

Lee said 2024 marked a remarkable chapter in the company’s history, with sales numbers in its Sendayan developments continuing to impress and the fast-tracking of its Levia Residence project in Kuala Lumpur that was completed ahead of schedule.

He said the company was also preparing to launch Phase 2 of Bandar Sri Impian, a 125ha development in Johor featuring 3,054 residential units, this year.

He also said the successful purchase of 559ha of prime land in MVV City and a second 404.7ha parcel adjacent to it would set the stage for future growth and ensure the company had a steady stream of opportunities to develop for the next decade.

“This vision took a significant step forward on Dec 17 last year following the groundbreaking ceremony of MVV City.

“As the ‘Pulse of the Future’, MVV City is not just a development but a bold statement of progress, innovation and sustainability that marks the beginning of an ambitious journey to create a thriving hub that will redefine possibilities for generations to come,” Lee said, adding that he was confident the best was yet to come.

The preceding evening, the developer had feted over 600 business associates including lawyers, consultants, bankers, community leaders, contractors and the media with a sumptuous eight-course dinner.

In his address, chairman Datuk Mohamad Haslah Mohamad Amin cited Lee’s visionary leadership, generosity and sheer determination as the cornerstone of the company’s success.

He also thanked staff and business associates for contributing to the company’s continued growth.

“From record-breaking sales to ground-breaking projects, we have ticked every box.

“And the best part is that every single one of you here tonight has played a role in making that happen.

“You’re not just business associates – you’re part of the Matrix family,” he said.

He highlighted that MVV City was set to be one of the largest integrated developments in the region, combining residential, commercial and industrial zones to create a thriving ecosystem.

“It’s not just about growth – it’s about building a community that will drive innovation and progress for decades to come.

“We’ve come a long way from being a Seremban town developer to standing tall as an international player,” he said.

Accompanied by a three-piece band, Mohamad Haslah thrilled the crowd when he launched into a rendition of Lee’s favourite tune, Teresa Teng’s The Moon Represents My Heart.

Guests were also entertained with performances by accomplished violinist Dr Joanne Yeoh and a video presentation showcasing the developer’s origins from humble beginnings, its accomplishments and future plans.

In another initiative, Matrix Concepts Foundation treated residents at Pertubuhan Kebajikan Orang Kurang Upaya Seremban welfare home to a scrumptious lunch.

Led by foundation chairman Datuk Noordin Mohd Yatib and advisor Datin Seri Yong Chou Lian, the team also gave out ang pow to the 35 residents and six caretakers at the home for people with disabilities.

The residents also had the opportunity to toss yee sang, which symbolises unity and prosperity, and were treated to performances by the company’s employees.

Noordin said the event demonstrated the foundation’s unwavering dedication to giving back to the community.

“The Chinese New Year season is a time for reflection, gratitude and extending a helping hand to those in need.

“This event captures the true spirit of Chinese New Year by promoting a sense of unity and demonstrating our shared responsibility to care for one another,” he said.

The foundation had also extended its support to the home by installing amenities in its washrooms and toilets.

Yong also handed a RM5,000 donation to the home to help with expenses.
