Building on the success of last year’s “Recycle Me!” campaign, Trash4Cash Malaysia launched the latest edition of the community-driven recycling initiative.

Organised with partners Coca-Cola Malaysia, Aeon Co (M) Bhd and Hiroyuki Industries, the ongoing effort showed a shared commitment among key industry players to encourage Malaysians to recycle.

The campaign, which runs until Dec 12, 2025, promotes recycling while introducing key innovations.

The new version of the “Recycle Me!” bin offers a user interface equipped with built-in WiFi and a sticker printer.

These upgrades ensure a seamless recycling process.

The new bins also feature a one-time registration system integrated with the Trash4Cash website.

Consumers can continue using the Trash4Cash app to submit proof of bottle deposits and receive rewards directly.

“At Trash4Cash, our mission is to turn waste into value and make recycling part of everyday life,” said Trash4Cash Malaysia chief executive officer Shafreez Redza Mhd Saiful Anuar.

“This year’s upgraded bins are a direct response to feedback and our continuous commitment to making recycling simpler, smarter and more rewarding for everyone.

“With our partners, we aim to inspire communities to take ownership of waste management and build a cleaner Malaysia,” he said.

The campaign across 15 Aeon malls shows how vital collaborations are in fostering green action.

By placing the new bins in these malls, the campaign gave more Malaysians the chance to recycle.

Aeon chief human resources and sustainability officer Dr Kasuma Satria Mat Jadi said, “Our ongoing partnerships with Trash4Cash and other collaborators reinforce Aeon’s support of sustainability efforts in our communities.

“This campaign makes it easier for Malaysians to be part of the recycling movement.”

Highlighting the importance of creating value from recycled materials, Hiroyuki Industries founder and managing director Nakata Hiroyuki said, “Plastic isn’t waste – it’s a resource that holds immense potential when recycled properly.

“We hope to inspire more people to see the value in recycling and make it a regular practice.

“We are proud to be a key partner in processing the plastic collected through this initiative and contribute to the community and environment,” he said.
