Ex-Convent Peel Road girls mark 70th b’day at reunion

A total of 46 former Convent Peel Road Class of 1971 gathering for the reunion in Petaling Jaya.

SCHOOL reunions never fail to evoke memories of our younger days.

This was what happened when 46 former students of Convent Peel Road’s Class of 1971 gathered for their reunion.

Then event also doubled up as their 70th birthday bash at a hotel in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The alumni, some of whom came from as far as the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, shared their memories of studying at the school in Kuala Lumpur during the occasion.

Name tags pinned on their outfits helped some of them to recognise and remember old schoolmates.

Not only did the reunion rekindle old friendships, new ones were also created.

Special guest was Liu Hwoong Chiew, who taught Physical Education at the school, now known as SMK Convent Jalan Peel.

Highlights included a cake-cutting ceremony, lucky draws and the obligatory group photograph, which was taken in the garden area.

Participants thanked the committee members for making the event possible.

The organisers expressed their gratitude to all those present and plan for an even bigger reunion in the near future.
