Retail giant Aeon Co (M) Bhd marked its 40th anniversary on a high note with the grand opening of its 35th store in Shah Alam, Selangor.

In a statement, the company said Aeon Setia Alam represented another significant milestone, building on the success of its Putrajaya outlet launched just a year ago.

Located within Setia City Mall, Aeon Setia Alam covers 148,243sq ft across three floors.

Aeon managing director Naoya Okada said Aeon Setia Alam was a comprehensive one-stop destination catering to diverse shopper needs.

“With the inauguration of Aeon Setia Alam, our business now spans 28 Aeon malls, 35 Aeon stores, three MaxValu, four MaxValu Prime supermarkets, 65 Aeon Wellness and 45 Daiso outlets across the country.

“We are confident that our expanded presence will contribute significantly to the country’s economic development and positively impact the retail sector,” Okada said.

The grand opening was attended by Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) distributive trade and business sector senior director Datuk Rohaizi Bahari, Aeon co-chairman Datuk Iskandar Sarudin and other Aeon group managing directors.

Aeon Setia Alam catered to fashion enthusiasts of all ages, with exclusive labels such as Scar, Plus Collection and Guys’ Vision.

The store, it said, featured Inner Casual (iC), providing functional innerwear, activewear and casual wear inspired by Japanese fashion.

It also has a diverse range of skincare products, makeup and perfumes.

Like other Aeon stores, the statement said, the new location showcased its store brand Topvalu products, presenting customers with a diverse range of high-quality items including groceries, household essentials and daily necessities.

Additionally, the store offers the Home Coordy brand of home decor and furnishings.

In the supermarket section, it said, Aeon Setia Alam presented shoppers with fresh groceries and various delicatessen options including bento, sushi and a selection of sweet treats.

Coco Café offers hot, light meals while La Boheme features oven-fresh bread and bakery delights.

The statement said in conjunction with the launch, Aeon members would receive a special gift when they shopped at Aeon Setia Alam with the Aeon Member Plus Visa card, Aeon Wallet or via the iAeon app.

Each Aeon member would receive a RM10 voucher with every purchase of RM100 in a single receipt, while they would also be entitled to an exclusive ceramic dinnerware set with a minimum purchase of RM300 in a maximum of two receipts, it said.

During the grand opening, the Malaysian Aeon Foundation made a RM10,000 donation each to four charitable organisations, namely Persatuan Kebajikan dan Perlindungan Rumah Jalinan Kasih, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ulul Azmi, Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Bimbingan At-Taqwa and Pusat Jagaan dan Rawatan Orang Tua Al Ikhlas.
