Partial lane closure of NKVE for seven months from March 30

THERE will be a partial lane closure of the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) for seven months effective March 30 from 10pm to 5am daily.

This is to facilitate PLUS Malaysia Berhad's (PLUS) upgrading works of a Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) bridge at KM11.25 between the Shah Alam and Subang exchange.

According to PLUS, the works to be carried out at night with the support of Malaysian Highway Authority and KTMB are expected to complete on Nov 2.

"Staggered lane closures will be activated at night between KM10.5 and KM11.3 of the NKVE. The lanes will be reopened fully to users from 5am to ensure there is no disturbance to traffic flow especially for road users during peak hours," said PLUS senior general manager Mohd Yusuf Abdul Aziz at a press conference on Tuesday (March 28).

He added the KTM bridge would be elevated from the present 4.5m to 5.4m to enable more heavy vehicles to pass through the stretch. There would be no traffic disruption during festive seasons.

"Works will not be carried out for around 10 days during, before and after the Hari Raya celebration," said Mohd Yusuf during a press conference held at Persada PLUS in Petaling Jaya.

Road users are advised to plan their trip using the PLUS app to receive latest traffic updates and follow traffic signs and instructions by PLUS during the construction period.
