Botched drain job raises flood risk

SLIPSHOD building of two drain outlets parallel to Jalan Mahir Dua 25/44B, Taman Sri Muda 2 in Shah Alam, Selangor, has caused the culverts to be higher than the inner residential drains. This has impeded the flow of water into the main outlet, leading to stagnation.

Contractors had completed the 310m side drain in the city’s Section 25 about seven months ago.
