Setting up more dorms fast

Jagdeep: Due to time constraints caused by Covid-19, we cannot wait for the factories to build more dormitories.

VACANT commercial buildings are being identified to be transformed into workers’ dormitories in a move to protect the workers during the pandemic.

Penang local government, housing, town and country planning committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said this would be faster than building dormitories from scratch which would take a few years.
