Those ordering meals from Rasa Sayang can earn points for room stay vouchers


Pop-up stalls beside the Shang Shack also offer a variety of tasty takeaway treats priced from just RM10 to RM15.

FANCY eating your way to a memorable staycation? Then order your takeaways from Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa in Penang.

Whether you go for a quick meal on the go or even a Chinese New Year feast, delicious options abound on the hotel’s F&B e-platform.

Every RM2 spent on orders entitles guests to one point which can be redeemed against room stay vouchers under the new ‘Pay to Eat and Free to Stay’ promo.

Accumulate 550 points to get a night’s stay in a Deluxe Garden View Room at Rasa Sayang or 350 points for a Superior Room at sister property Golden Sands Resort. Both include breakfast for two.

F&B executive assistant manager Jegan Selvarajan said the vouchers are valid for three months from the date of issue and can be used once MCO 2.0 restrictions are lifted.

“We want to reward guests who come for takeaways at our Shang Shack. There’s no limit on spending, so the more you order, the quicker you’ll earn yourselves a staycation, ” he added.

And with Chinese New Year around the corner, the Ox-picious Family Sets are ideal for those celebrating at home.

Menu A features Marmite Chicken, Spicy Nestum Prawns and Fish Maw with Mushrooms and Greens. Menu B features Shrimp Paste Chicken, Prawns with Milan Sauce and Broccoli with Konyaku and Sliced Abalone.

Both also come with Pickled Papaya Salad, Lotus Leaf Rice and Mixed Fruits.

The sets are priced at RM108 for two persons, RM318 for six and RM408 for eight.

Complement that with Prosperity Yee Sang with salmon (RM100), jellyfish (RM88), sliced abalone (RM88) or fruit (RM68). Or have Premium Poon Choy from RM688.

The shack also has pop-up stalls selling shawarma, char koay teow, mee goreng, nasi goreng, chendul, satay and Hokkien mee from 11am to 8pm daily. Prices range from RM10 to RM15 and the shack also gives points.
