DESPITE the pandemic affecting businesses, Aman Central in Alor Setar has maintained its position as the leading mall in the north.
This was made possible through its CSR activities, campaigns and contests for shoppers to enjoy in the face of tough challenges.
The malls’ 2020 highlights included the CNY Launch, Royal Escapade 2.0, #AmanCentralCares Project, Crafting An Icon, People’s Choice Awards, Wonderful 5.0 and Magical Noel Tree Christmas Launching.
The year started with the CNY launch of ‘Springtime Rhapsody’ with majestic decorations inspired by the royal Chinese palace.
Later in the year, shoppers were rewarded with the Royal Escapade 2.0 Final Draw with 71 prizes given away. The grand prize was a new Ford Ranger XLT Plus worth RM125,000!
Other impressive prizes were return flight tickets to Great Britain, Cosas United luggage, OSIM Diva 2 massage chair, Carlo Rino Must-Haves This Season and wallets, TOMEI Collection, Medi Beaute vouchers, iPhone 11, Bath & Body Works Gift Set, Victoria’s Secret Gift Set and a year’s supply of EcoBrown’s Gold Mixed Wholegrain Rice.
The event was in partnership with JM Auto Gallery (Alor Setar) Sdn Bhd and its sister company Auto Gallery Cartrade.
In March when the mall was partially closed, the management launched the #AmanCentralCares Project to contribute 150 meals and gadgets to frontliners.
After almost three months of closure, Aman Central welcomed shoppers back with the Raya-themed Warna Raya.
To mark Hari Raya Haji, the mall held the Warna Warna Raya Aidiladha Bazaar which offered plenty of good deals.
In August, the mall held the Crafting an Icon Doodle Live Battle in partnership with VANS Malaysia and Nuwav Aman Central. Art lovers came together for the competition themed ‘Modern Malaysia vs Heritage’.
Aman Central also hosted the People’s Choice Awards; 23 shoppers were selected to take home F&B cash vouchers while F&B outlets received recognition.
The winners were Nando’s (Most Popular F&B), Mee Tarik Warisan Asli (Most Favourite Main Course), Baskin Robbins (Most Favourite Dessert), Boost Juice Bars (Most Favourite Signature Drink), McDonald (Most Favourite Fast Food) and Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart (Most Favourite Snack).
Aman Central’s 5th Anniversary Campaign kicked off with Wonderful 5.0. through digital initiatives with Malaysian designers.
Those wishing to help the needy may buy limited edition scarves at RM89.90 and tote bags at RM55.50 available at the Concierge Counter (ground floor) and through social media platforms. Proceeds will go to charity homes in cooperation with Menteri Besar Kedah Incorporated.
The campaign also has Monthly Draws featuring goodies from The Face Shop, Laneige, Himalaya, Innisfree, HLA, Texas Chicken and EcoBrown. The grand prize is an Xpander Mitsubishi car.
The main highlight of the year was the Magical Noel Tree Christmas Launch graced by Kedah works, water supply and water resources and energy committee chairman Datuk Suraya Yaacob and Belleview Group managing director and Aman Central owner Datuk Sonny Ho.
Tenants AGift, House California, Innisfree, Laneige, Texas Chicken, The Face Shop and Wirdora also helped produce the mall’s advent calendar and 2021 diary planner.
Now the mall is giving shoppers 1,800 free Grab rides until November 2021, valid for all Grab services in Kedah and for rides to/from Aman Central only with the promo code ACFREERM5. Terms and conditions apply.
To end the year, Aman Central has implemented cashless parking in a bid to go green.
