PROPERTY developer UEM Sunrise Bhd bagged the Digital – Real Estate trophy at the Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2020.

The award was for its hUb Prop app, a virtual concierge for UEM Sunrise products.

The company’s win marks the first time a property developer is recognised for technology excellence.

Into its second year, the awards event pays tribute to game changers who take the lead in engineering trendsetting projects, virtual services, reconstructed strategies and technological innovations.

The Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards, presented by Singapore Business Review, was conducted via video conference last month.

This year’s nominations were evaluated by a panel comprising Deloitte Asia Pacific partner and FSI financial and regulatory risk leader Justin Ong; KPMG Malaysia executive director, partner and IT-enabled transformation head Alvin SH Gan; BDO Kuala Lumpur executive director and adviser Hari Iyer; Crowe Growth Consulting Sdn Bhd managing director Michael Lim Jr; as well as Ernst & Young Advisory Services Sdn Bhd partner and adviser Jade Leong.

UEM Sunrise digital and incubation director Hasniza Mohamed said: “To be recognised for this award is truly gratifying.

“Our aim is to set the bar for the digital property industry.

“We have dedicated significant time to digitalisation and innovation and we have numerous initiatives in the pipeline to ensure the hUb platform grows from strength to strength.

“UEM Sunrise recognises that the quest for customer experience, operational excellence and building sustainable communities of the future hinges on our ability to adapt, innovate and integrate digital technologies into our business operations.

“This is why we have embraced and are implementing various digital and innovation initiatives internally and externally.

“Concurrently, we are actively looking for the right start-ups and newly-emerged businesses to partner with, to bring more value to UEM Sunrise,” she added.

In June last year, UEM Sunrise unveiled a digital mobile app called hUb (since rebranded to hUb Prop) to cater to loyal customers and future housebuyers as part of the company’s efforts to enhance customers’ experience, embrace innovation and digitisation to stay relevant in the market with its “go-digital journey”.

This also marks an important milestone in UEM Sunrise’s digital transformation journey in line with the company’s aim to be the digital developer of choice in the country.

The mobile app enables UEM Sunrise’s hUb Prop registered users to access information and further improve their journey from pre-searching to moving into their property.

The app makes it easier for hUb Prop users to make decisions at their convenience, with a swipe of the finger.

It also provides information on UEM Sunrise’s latest properties, promotions, upcoming events and project launches.

To date, more than 5,600 users have downloaded hUb Prop.

UEM Sunrise will be unveiling a new phase of its digital journey soon to expand its digital offerings for the convenience of customers.
