A new Klang Municipal Council (MPK) secretary is expected to start duties next Tuesday (Sept 3).
Elya Marini Darmin, a former deputy director (Management) of the Selangor Land and Mines Office, housed at the state secretariat building has been appointed as MPK's secretary effective Sept 3.
She had served at the Land and Mines Office since December 2017, and she replaces former secretary Adi Faizal Ahmad Tarmizi, who had moved to the Selangor State Sports Council earlier this year after serving for more than two years
Speculation is rife that Elya, whose forte is in management, was appointed to MPK to organise, identify best practices in the council, improve standards and advocate for more effective collaboration and consensus between the council and the people.
