LRT hunt beckons once again

ATTRACTIVE prizes such as mountain bikes, Xiaomi smartphones and Xiaomi action cameras await winners of the Penang LRT Hunt 2019.

The event is open to teams of four persons.

Penang LRT Hunt 2019 organising chairman Tan Jun Soo said in a press release that more prizes which include lucky draw prizes will also be given away.

Tan said the walking phase of the hunt comprised a distance of about 1.5km through the outer fringe of George Town, followed by a 5.5km cycle through dedicated bicycle lanes.

“Participants will be taken through the alignment of all the LRT stations from Komtar station to Jalan Tengah station.

“Identifying the exact locations of the LRT stations will be one of the challenges.

“Teams are also required to answer questions of various levels of difficulty during the hunt,” he said.

Tan said there would be another challenging task before their final journey to Jalan Tengah in Bayan Baru.

“The registration is now only RM220 per team with the promo code RAYA55.

“The fee was initially RM360 per team of four persons,” he said.

Penang LRT Hunt 2019, which is endorsed by the Penang Island City Council, is organised in collaboration with Junior Chamber International Entrepreneur Metropolitan Malaysia, Gabungan Persatuan Pemandu Teksi dan Pemandu Kereta Sewa Negeri Pulau Pinang and e-hailing app cALLme.

Back with its second edition, the Penang LRT Hunt is aimed at enabling the public to know more about the Bayan Lepas LRT project and to encourage public transport use as a means of staying active and fit.

Themed #YesToPTMP, the event requires participants to walk, cycle and use public transport from Komtar to Bayan Baru to reach several designated checkpoints and 14 proposed LRT stations.

The event on July 27 will be flagged off at 6.30am in front of Maybank, Komtar.
