THE school holidays are here, and Popular Malaysia is having a warehouse clearance in Petaling Jaya until March 31 at The Starling in Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya.
Level five of the mall has a selection of English, Malay and Chinese books of various genres, stationery, CDs and DVDs as well as gadgets and IT products – with up to 80% discount.
Enjoy selected English books for as many as five for RM20, selected Chinese books with rebate up to 70% for purchases of three or more, while CDs are 50% off.
A single receipt of RM100 minimum entitles visitors to a RM5 voucher. There are purchase-with-purchase deals which include a gold or silver 480ml flask.
If you apply for or renew the Popular Card or Popular Privilege Card, you can get a free gift of a Popular foldable recyclable bag.
Activities at the event will include local graphic novelist Nixon Siow, author of books such as Macam Tu Pun Tak Boleh Ke? who will amuse visitors with his tongue-in-cheek thoughts, sketched out in his comics gallery “What I hope to see by Wawasan 2020”.
To celebrate the new Malaysia, Siow spent a month creating a series of illustrations that are easily understandable by Malaysians to encourage us to retain a positive mindset and continue effecting change.
There will also be a Discover-It-Yourself workshops such as forest-themed canvas board workshop, DIY paper windmill workshop, fun with Lego, story-telling as well as fun English learning and paper crafts.
