Ex-NGO man aims to serve via politics


Ooi was recently involved in the social project known as Padang Tembak 50, which encouraged people who grew up in the Rifle Range flats to share photographs, videos and other memories to mark the place’s 50th anniversary.

KEBUN Bunga Gerakan coordinator Ooi Zhi Yi ventured into politics after being active in non-governmental organisations.

The 34-year-old Universiti Sains Malaysia graduate in social science said he joined the party in 2005 after realising the limitation of NGOs.
