Discover Borneo 2026 is currently taking place at the Curve shopping centre in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The festival, which celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Sabah and Sarawak, will be held at the mall’s Centre Court until May 17.

Entering its third year, the festival is once again held in celebration of the Bornean states’ harvest festivals – Sabah’s Kaamatan (celebrated on May 30-31) and Sarawak’s Gawai Dayak (June 1-2).

From 10am to 10pm on the weekends, visitors can enjoy various activities. Among the scheduled goings-on are cultural performances, a blow pipe competition, a kek lapis workshop and nasi bungkus competition.

Visitors can have a taste of Bornean delicacies, such as the aforementioned kek lapis, nasi bungkus (leaf-wrapped rice), tuak and Sarawak laksa. Those who want to learn how to make these can join the cooking demonstration.

When it comes to shopping, visitors can buy Bornean traditional handicrafts and clothes as well as accessories made from Sabahan pearl.

There is also a stamp collection activity. After collecting all the stamps by shopping and dining at the Curve, and also joining a Discover Borneo workshop, visitors will get to redeem a reward.
