If you have an idea on how to boost tourism in Selangor, here's your chance to bring it to life.

The state has just opened up applications for this year's tourism grant, in support of its Visit Selangor Year 2026 campaign. This time around, the total allocation is RM600,000, which is double of last year's amount.

There are four categories of applicants: local private companies and/or organisations; government-linked companies that do not receive government funding for promotional activities; state government subsidiaries; and local non-governmental organisations.

Apart from that, there are five types of initiatives from which applicants can choose:

1. Pusing Selangor Dulu (RM3,000 grant)

2. Discover Selangor (RM5,000)

3. Splendid Selangor (RM10,000)

4. Surprising Selangor (15,000)

5. Selangor Kan Ada (RM20,000)

Priority will go to proposals with strong tourism impact, especially those that boost the local economy, involve collaboration between organisations and communities, or attract international visitors.

Submissions are accepted from now until Oct 31; the grant is expected to benefit up to 59 tourism programmes and events across Selangor. – Gisele Soo
