This Tokyo hotel chain offers guests access to immersive sumo experience

Watch a sumo match while enjoying Japanese cuisine. — Hirakuza

One of the latest attractions to open in Tokyo, Japan this year is a “sumo live restaurant”.

Called Hirakuza Ginza Tokyo, which opened in January, it is a dining establishment where guests can savour Japanese cuisine while watching a live sumo match.

If you’re interested in trying out the restaurant but still debating your accommodation, then you’ll appreciate the recent collaboration between Hirakuza and Mimaru.

Mimaru, a family-friendly apartment hotel brand in Japan, is offering guests special access to an immersive sumo experience at the restaurant.

To be eligible for this, you have to stay at one of the participating properties: Mimaru Tokyo Hatchobori, Mimaru Tokyo Station East, Mimaru Tokyo Ginza East and Mimaru Tokyo Suitengumae.

You will then receive special guest benefits that include live demonstrations by professional wrestlers and an interactive engagement with them.

As this is designed to be accessible and educational for international visitors, you will be encouraged to ask questions. Through this experience, you will gain a deeper understanding of this unique living cultural heritage of Japan.
