Malaysia’s food scene has long been a major draw for travellers, and there are many food festivals happening across the country this year that could potentially attract more visitors.

There's Terengganu’s Oh My Chey Chey Kopi & Pastri 3.0, which is happening from Jan 29 to 31. This is where you can gather to enjoy some coffee and kuih.

Then there's the Lapa Food Festival in Sarawak, which will be held in two locations within the state: Sibu and Bintulu. The former runs from Jan 28 to Feb 1, and the latter from Feb 4 to 8. During the events, visitors can try all kinds of local delicacies like mee kolok, Kampua noodles, tomato noodles and more.

Johor is set to host the Matcha & Cakes Festival 2026 under the MaQan Food Fest, running from Jan 30 to Feb 1 at Toppen Shopping Centre in Johor Baru. Among the activities visitors can participate in the event are a DIY dessert workshop, a matcha whisk challenge and a cake decoration competition.

There's also something to look forward to in Sabah this April. The Sabah International Food Expo, which runs from April 24 to 26 at the Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu, will bring together hundreds of vendors. Visitors can enjoy cooking demonstrations and try a wide variety of food here.

Another food fair in the state is the Signature Food Fest (5th edition), which will take place from May 1 to 3. The event showcases creative local dishes and celebrates culinary talents.

The Selangor Mega Food Fest will be held from Oct 3 to 4 this year. Expect a lively atmosphere in Shah Alam, where the event will be held. There's a lot to see and try here, including a long list of viral snacks and traditional dishes.

There are more food-themed festivals set to be launched this year so watch this space for updates.
