Mount Cho Oyu opening new route to appeal to international tourists

Two groups of Nepali Sherpas are trying to find a second route up one of the Himalayas’ most popular peaks, Mount Cho Oyu. — Wikimedia Commons

Mount Cho Oyu, an 8,000m peak in the Himalayas, is considered one of the most manageable mountains of its size.

More than 4,000 people have reached its 8,188m peak, according to the Himalayan Database, making it the second-most popular mountain after Mount Everest.
