Malaysian doctor conquered her fear of heights by jumping off a plane


Courage, grit and dreams are my driving force. However, I have my fears too. As a psychiatry medical officer, I know exactly what the word phobia means and how to counter it by using exposure therapy or desensitisation techniques.

I have acrophobia or a fear of heights. Over the years, I’ve tried to overcome it by challenging myself to do things I normally wouldn’t because it involves a high place or building. This includes climbing Mount Kinabalu and walking up the Batu Caves steps, going to the transparent deck at KL Tower and even ziplining in South Korea!
