Tens of thousands of people in several states in Malaysia have been affected by the devastating floods that occurred last week.
Rallying together to help those affected, several fashion designers and brand owners have posted call-outs on their social media platforms with details on how members of the public can support these efforts.
The dUCk Group launched a fundraiser in collaboration with MyFundAction and KitaFund, raising over RM100,000 within its first day.
There is also an option to drop off items at the brands stores in Pavilion KL, Suria KLCC, One Utama, Setia City Mall, I0I City Mall, KL East Mall and Bangsar Village.
Essential items that are needed include milk powder for babies, baby feeding bottles, clothing for men, women, children and babies, diapers, sanitary items, towels, blankets, lighters, candles and more.
In partnership with Cuci Malaysia, fashion brand Lilit is helping by contributing supplies to help with post-flood cleanup efforts.
On Instagram, they are calling for donations of items such as mops, brooms, cleaning liquid, garbage bags, rubber gloves, pails and other cleaning supplies.
One can bring these items to any of their stores in KL East Mall, I0I City Mall or Bangsar Village II before 5pm on Dec 25th.
Until December 31, local designer Khoon Hooi is initiating an online sale to aid affected communities, where items such as face masks, headbands, bucket hats, yoga bags and turbans ranging between RM25 and RM150 will be for sale online.
A post on the designer's Instagram account said, "Not only will the funds collected be doubled up by the label itself, but 100% of the proceeds will go to Mercy Malaysia".
