Zendaya and Tom Holland aren’t the only ones making headlines during the Spider-Man: Brand New Day press tour – co-star Sadie Sink is also getting a fair share of the attention.

Apart from the mystery behind Sink’s role in the tentpole, it appears that her hair has also been turning heads for all the right reasons.

Her fiery red locks – which are all natural, by the way, but she wears a wig in the Spider-Man film – have been the starlet’s signature look since her early acting days playing Max Mayfield in Stranger Things.

With an image that is synonymous with the incredible roles she has portrayed, it is no surprise that the masses have come to embrace the idea for themselves.

Another redhead who has been gaining press for their red mane is Lindsay Lohan, who got fans in a tizzy after she revealed the new look via social media.

The warm copper tone of it is reminiscent of her nostalgic roles as Anna Coleman in Freaky Friday and twins Hallie Parker and Annie James in The Parent Trap.

It is no wonder that red hair is having its moment right now.

Out of all the naturally occurring hair colour that exists, the shade is a bold one that sets you apart.

For those who want to bring a little more life to their tresses, the red pigment is a wonderful choice. It reflects light more intensely, giving it the illusion of a glossier finish, especially when worn in a sleek, straight style.

Not only that, but it also complements a wide variety of complexions.

Fair-complexioned individuals benefit from the pop of brightness. Medium skin tones, on the other hand, can benefit from the dimensional effect it can have on the visage.

Finally, those with deeper skin tones can gain a luxurious glow from the contrast red hair can create.

Where care is concerned, take extra care to note down what your attending colourist mentions.

Generally, red dyes tend to wash away much faster compared to other shades – the colour molecules are larger, and therefore don’t deposit as well as other colours.

Due to its tendency to shed pigment, try to avoid washing it daily.

On wash days, it is ideal to use a colour-preserving, sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner which come with the technology to extend the life of the colour, keeping it vibrant.

To extend the window between touch-up appointments, you may also consider switching to cold rinses. The cold water prevents the hair cuticles from opening up, so dye molecules stay in place for longer.

Last, but not least, minimise sun exposure and contact with chlorine to protect the luscious copper hue.

Ultimately, you may want to take consistent hair colourist appointments into consideration before you go ahead and book for the dye job, as these regular touch-ups will help to keep the colour vivid.
